Riding for Something Bigger: Babes in Borrego x Atlas Animal Rescue
At Babes Ride Out, we’ve always believed that community is more than just showing up—it’s about showing up for something.
This year at Babes in Borrego, we’re expanding what that means in a way that feels deeply aligned with who we are as riders, adventurers, and women who care about the world around us.
We’re proud to partner with Atlas Animal Rescue—a California-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abused and neglected dogs, both locally and internationally.
Why This Matters
If you’ve ever locked eyes with a dog on the road, at a campsite, or outside a gas station—you know. There’s something about that connection that cuts through everything.
Atlas Animal Rescue steps in for dogs that don’t get that second chance easily. Many come from high-risk shelters or difficult situations, and through rehabilitation and care, they’re given the opportunity to find a forever home.
That mission hits close to home for us.
Because Babes Ride Out has always been about creating space—space to grow, to try something new, to feel supported, and to belong. And honestly? That’s not so different from what these pups are looking for too.
What You Can Expect at Babes in Borrego
Atlas Animal Rescue will be onsite at Babes in Borrego with adoptable dogs ready to meet their future humans.
Yes, that means:
- You can meet somerescue pups in real life
- Learn about their stories and journeys
- Connect with the Atlas team about fostering, adopting, or supporting
- Potentially leave with a new co-pilot (no pressure… but also 👀)
- Can't take one home but still want to support, you can make a donation on site if you wish
This isn’t just a booth you walk past—it’s an experience that adds another layer of meaning to the weekend.
More Than a Weekend
Events like Babes in Borrego are about unforgettable rides, late-night laughs, and pushing your limits—but they’re also an opportunity to use our platform for something bigger.
By bringing Atlas Animal Rescue into this space, we’re not just highlighting their work—we’re inviting our community to be part of it.
Whether that means adopting, donating, sharing their mission, or simply spending time with the dogs and learning more—every interaction matters.
The Heart of It All
At the end of the day, motorcycles bring us together. But what we do with that connection? That’s where the real impact lives.
And if we can help a few more dogs find their forever homes along the way… that feels like a pretty damn good ride.
About Atlas Animal Rescue
Atlas Animal Rescue is a Paso Robles, California based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Atlas was founded by Emily Everett-Nelson, who began her rescue journey by volunteering for various animal rescue groups in Southern California. She always wanted to start her own rescue one day and after volunteering for a rescue in China called Slaughterhouse Survivors, she solidified that decision after the life changing experience she had there. Her mission now is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused and neglected dogs both locally in California, and internationally by partnering with Slaughterhouse Survivors in China, and finding them loving homes in the USA.
Emily and her husband Jessy Nelson share 5 dogs together, Indy, Kenny, Albus, Bolt, and Wiley.
